Tuesday 28th April

Tuesday 28th April 2020

Hello my lovely children, I hope you are all still well and had a lovely break from learning over the weekend. It looks like we are going to get a break from the sunshine for a few days and maybe have some rain. This is needed by the plants as they are getting very thirsty due to the soil being too dry. For those of you who are growing things you will notice how quickly your plants start growing over the next month especially if the rain comes, as that is what plants enjoy the most, mixed with the warmth.

There are plenty of creative activities for you to do on our class page if you are unable to go outdoors or you could create your own activity. Thank you for the lovely pebbles of hope that you have placed at the school gates, they really are beautiful and show just how caring you all are - please keep them coming!

I have been going out on my bike which I haven't done for a long time, I used to do a lot of mountain biking when I was younger, it used to be easier then!! I could barely breathe going up a slight hill the other day and on the way down I must have swallowed twenty midges!!!! I was rather saddle sore the day after too!!

I sent Mr Botterman up the ladder to check on Mrs Quacknall on Saturday and when he got to the top she looked at him straight in the eye and flew off - he nearly fell off the ladder!! I waited for her to return which she did, with the male duck! She clearly got help from him as she must have felt threatened by us. It was fascinating to watch, he didn't leave until she flew back on the nest - I don't think we will peep again unless we know she is not there. I have been looking at how to make a duck house on the internet, I plan to build a house for them just in case they do hatch and fly or fall down from the nest!

I wrote to the RSPB about Mrs Quacknell and I got  a reply, check it out here.

Miss you lots

Mrs B x
