Science

VR Space workshop!!!

In this amazing workshop the children put on their VR googles and simultaneously blasted off into space. We piloted our research vessels around planets and moons, and learned about the solar system. We could barely contain our excitement to listen to some of the mazing things we learned, but what a great time we had!

In Science we will be looking at living things and their habitats. We will be creating an inspirational and informative collection of scientific illustrations on the theme of animal and plant life cycles. Along the way we will develop our mastery of key art skills as you create accurate and eye catching illustrations that tell the life cycle story of a range of nature’s wonders.

In Science in the second half term we will be learning about ’Earth and Space’. We will learn to describe a sphere and understand that this is the shape of all planets and stars. The children will research the planets in our solar system and find out how we know that they orbit the sun by examining scientific evidence. We will also look at time zones and how day and night occur at different times around the planet. Finally we will investigate the phases of the moon and how it orbits the Earth and not the sun.
