15.11.2024 - Prefixes ‘in-’, ‘il-’, ‘im-’ and ‘ir-’
Prefixes are a group of letters that change the meaning of a word when they are added to the start. For further practise I suggest you work through the different activities on the BBC Bitesize webpage:

18.10.2024 - possessive apostrophe with singular proper nouns ending with s
This is building on last week's input. The apostrophe comes after the s when a proper noun ends in an s.
Jed's bicycle is very dirty.
Agnes' football is a birthday present.
11.10.2024 - Possessive apostrophe with singular proper nouns
Proper nouns are the names of a particular person, place or thing. They always begin with a capital letter. An apostrophe can be used to show something belongs to someone.
Mr Chandler's iPad has run out of charge.
Sam's pencil needs sharpening.
This BBC website - How to use possessive apostrophes - is an excellent introduction in how to use possessive apostrophes. It is goes on to long at them being used for plural nouns.
04.10.2024 - Homophones (peace/piece, main/mane, fair/fare)
Homophones are words that sound the same but have different meanings. They also have different spellings.
This BBC Bitesize webpage has a range of homophone activities that will reinforce the children's learning.
