You must listen to your child read their school reading book for at least 10 minutes each day. Regular reading at home helps build confidence, fluency, and a love of books.
Find a quiet, comfortable space to read together. Talk about the pictures and what might happen in the story before you start. Encourage your child to sound out tricky words and praise their efforts. You can ask simple questions like “What might happen next?” to help them think about the story.
Most importantly, keep reading fun and relaxed. If your child is tired, enjoy sharing a story together instead. Thank you for supporting your child’s reading at home!
