Brilliant Bell Beakers

In Art we will be looking at the art and culture of ‘The Beaker People’, a culture from the beginning of the Bronze Age. We will be closely examining their artefacts and their methods of production before using our sketches and visual research to make our own clay beakers.

Van Gogh’s cave paintings

In this Art/Dt/history project we first learned about Van Gogh, his life and how he used colour to portray emotion. We experimented with copying his style and created a background for a cave that was inspired by his work. We then learned about cave paintings and how early people used them to communicate. We practised our own versions of cave paintings and then learned how to make paint in the way that stone age people did. Finally, we created a large colourful background influence by Van Gogh’s work and painted a stone age motif over the top using our stone age paints.
